Caravaggio Opal Pendant

The Fritz Hansen Caravaggio Opal Pendant transforms Cecilie Manz's iconic design language into something beautifully ethereal through the magic of hand-blown opal glass, creating a lighting experience that's both sophisticated and warmly inviting. This isn't just another variation of the classic Caravaggio - the opal glass shade completely reimagines how this beloved silhouette interacts with light, replacing the focused downward beam with a soft, diffused glow that fills your entire space with ambient warmth. The characteristic bell shape retains its feminine curves and timeless appeal, while the translucent opal glass creates that coveted soft illumination perfect for creating atmosphere in dining rooms, bedrooms, or any space where you want lighting that feels more like mood than task. Whether used as a single statement piece or arranged in multiples for dramatic effect, the Caravaggio Opal delivers that perfect balance of sculptural beauty and gentle functionality. What makes this pendant truly special is how the opal glass transforms the entire lighting experience while maintaining the design integrity that made the original Caravaggio famous. The hand-blown glass shade emits soft, dimmed light that's particularly suited to spaces requiring more evocative illumination - think intimate dinner parties, cozy reading corners, or bedside lighting that won't disturb. The chrome-plated metal suspension provides that essential masculine contrast to the feminine glass, while the expertly integrated textile cable completes the refined aesthetic. The opening at the top still creates subtle upward illumination of the suspension and cord, but now it's gentler and more atmospheric. Available in multiple sizes from the compact P1 perfect for intimate settings to larger options for grand installations, each pendant maintains those perfect proportions that define Cecilie Manz's masterful design sensibility. Fritz Hansen approaches opal glass lighting from their deep commitment to Danish design excellence, where traditional glassblowing techniques meet contemporary aesthetics through collaboration with visionary designers like Cecilie Manz. Since the original Caravaggio launched in 2005 and achieved instant icon status, Fritz Hansen has continued expanding this beloved collection while maintaining the uncompromising quality and design integrity that defines their brand legacy. Their philosophy centers on creating fixtures that serve both functional lighting needs and emotional wellbeing through beautiful, considered design - which is why the Caravaggio Opal represents more than just ambient lighting, but an investment in creating spaces that feel personally meaningful and deeply comfortable. Through meticulous hand-blown glass craftsmanship, premium materials, and that distinctly Danish approach to balancing form and function, Fritz Hansen ensures each opal pendant becomes a lasting source of both illumination and inspiration in your living space.
