Canon AE-1 Program

Canon AE-1 Program — 35mm Film Camera The Canon AE-1 Program is one of those cameras that just gets out of your way. Released in the early ’80s, it became a go-to for a reason—simple when you want it, flexible when you need it, and always reliable. It’s often the camera people start with—and the one they don’t really stop using. You can shoot it fully automatic in Program mode (just frame and go), or switch into shutter-priority when you want more control and a slower, more intentional pace. Either way, it stays intuitive and easy to trust. The viewfinder is bright, the LED meter is clean and readable, and the shutter has that classic Canon click that makes every frame feel like it mattered. Built on Canon’s FD lens system, you’ve got access to a huge world of vintage glass—sharp, character-rich, and fun to get lost in. It works just as well on a casual walk as it does on a roll where you’re really paying attention.
