Canna Dress Sewing Pattern

The Canna Dress is a long, relaxed dress with a flattering V-neckline, delicate spaghetti straps, inseam pockets, and a low-back gathered detail finished with an adjustable center-back tie. The straps are removable, giving you the option to wear the dress with a little more coverage or create a beautiful backless look.     Pattern Features Easy, Comfortable, and Adjustable The Canna Dress was designed to make getting dressed on warm days as easy as possible. Its loose, flowy silhouette sits comfortably on your body without feeling restrictive, while the adjustable back lets you customize how much of your back you want to show. The adjustable center-back tie allows you to modify the scoop of the low back, so you can create a more open or more covered look depending on what feels comfortable for you. The removable straps give you even more flexibility. Keep them on when you want extra support, or remove them when you want to create a sexy, backless look. And because the back is adjustable, you don’t have to worry about awkward gaps showing more than you want them to. Simply adjust the tie until the dress sits comfortably and securely against your body. Material Requirements Recommended Fabrics Choose lightweight, flowy fabrics that drape beautifully and allow the dress to move with your body. Great fabric options include: Rayon/viscose Cotton voile Lightweight challis Lightweight linen or linen blends Other soft, breathable woven fabrics with good drape For a beach version, look for a fabric that is light and airy. For a lounge dress, choose something soft and comfortable that feels wonderful against your skin. Tip: Avoid fabrics that are too stiff or structured, as they can take away from the relaxed, flowing look of the Canna Dress. Why You’ll Love the Canna Dress You know those dresses you reach for over and over because they are just so easy to wear? And if you’re a beginner sewist, this is a particularly fun project because you can make a beautiful, wearable dress without tackling complicated construction or a highly fitted silhouette. You can keep it simple, play with your fabric, adjust the back to your liking, add your favorite accessories, and end up with a dress that feels completely like you. Basically, it is the kind of dress that makes you want to book a beach vacation just so you have somewhere to wear it.   Download Instructions Once you complete your purchase, you’ll be redirected to a download page and will also receive an email confirmation with your download link.
