These pieces are produced from a historic factory founded in 1903. Still in operation today, the pottery is listed as a historic monument and perpetuates a tradition of glazed earthenware, while adding a few variations and innovations. The pottery is made using local clay, reputed to be of excellent quality and extracted from a nearby quarry. Entirely handmade, the pieces are turned or shaped, then slip-coated, decorated, glazed and fired. The pieces are decorated with white, black, or red slips of clay. The decorations are a skillful blend of tradition and artistic expression. The pieces are then glazed in typical pottery colors of green, honey, light yellow, or black. Care Instructions Dishwasher safe, however we feel these pieces are so special that we recommend hand-wash to preserve their beauty and longevity. Do not microwave Dimensions Approx. 1" Candle Opening, 4" Height
