APO Cambrian 40mm T2.0

The Dulens APO Cambrian Prime 40mm T2.0 provides expansive medium format coverage for large sensors such as the ARRI Alexa 65 and Fujifilm GFX Eterna, acting as a versatile wide angle prime within the set. On these massive sensor formats, the 40mm delivers a field of view roughly equivalent to a 28mm on full frame formats, offering a spacious perspective that is ideal for environmental storytelling and wide master shots. Its 0.27 meter close focus capability allows cinematographers to move in tight on subjects while still capturing a generous amount of the surrounding architecture or landscape with a gentle, naturalistic fall off. The 40mm effectively captures a vast scale without the aggressive distortion often found in wider focal lengths, providing a grounded and immersive look for large format cinematography. The APO Cambrian Prime series is defined by an apochromatic design that ensures edge to edge sharpness and minimal chromatic aberration across high resolution sensors. To preserve a natural and organic aesthetic, Dulens has avoided the use of aspherical elements in this line, resulting in smooth, artifact free bokeh without the common onion ring textures found in modern glass. Each lens in the set features a proprietary V+ coating to balance modern micro contrast with gentle highlight roll off and subtle vintage flare. For streamlined efficiency on professional sets, the series shares consistent gear positions for focus and iris, a 270 degree focus rotation, and a uniform 80mm front diameter. Most focal lengths in the series, including the 40mm, feature a 72mm filter thread to accommodate screw in filters for compact configurations. These lenses come equipped with a PL mount, while interchangeable mounts in Canon EF and Fuji GFX can be purchased separately.
