How to Use Fitting Instructions Measure Your Dog's Paw First: Before fitting, check the size chart to measure your dog's paw to ensure you are selecting the right size. Slip the Boot onto the Paw: Slide the boot gently over your dog's paw and pad, ensuring the paw sits fully inside and the fabric lies flat against the leg. Secure the Velcro Strap: Wrap the velcro strap around the leg just above the paw and adjust it for a comfortable, snug fit that does not cut off circulation. Check for Two-Finger Space: Always confirm the fit by checking that one to two fingers can slide comfortably between the strap and your dog's leg. Monitor the Healing Site: Each time the boot is removed, take a moment to check the healing area to track progress and ensure it remains clean and dry. Remove for Supervised Rest: When your dog is resting and can be monitored, brief periods without the boot allow the paw and skin to breathe and air out. Additional Information Precautions Select the Correct Size: Always refer to the size chart before buying to ensure the correct size is selected for your dog's paw and leg. Do Not Over-Tighten: Do not secure the velcro strap too tightly; always ensure two fingers can slide comfortably between the strap and the leg. Consult Your Veterinarian: Always follow your veterinarian's advice regarding post-surgery or post-injury recovery care and the use of protective footwear. Monitor for Irritation: If your dog shows signs of discomfort, swelling, or irritation around the application site, take the boot off right away and check the paw carefully. Care and Maintenance Clean After Use: Clean the boot regularly during the recovery period according to the care instructions on the label to maintain hygiene and antimicrobial effectiveness. Inspect Before Each Use: Check the boot before each application to ensure the velcro, seams, and base pad are intact and functioning correctly. Ans: Microban is a built-in antimicrobial technology woven into the fabric of the boot. It helps fight the growth of bacteria at the healing site, supporting a cleaner recovery environment. This is especially important for open wounds, hot spots, and post-surgical incisions on the paw. Q3: How do I put the Recovery Boot on my dog? Ans: Gently slide the boot over your dog's paw until it is fully and comfortably in place. Wrap the velcro strap around the leg above the paw and adjust it for a snug but comfortable fit. Always check that one to two fingers can fit between the strap and the leg to make sure circulation is not restricted. Q4: Can the Recovery Boot be used outdoors? Ans: Yes.
