Callicarpa – Bubble Up Beautyberry

You’ll bubble with joy over Bubble Up Beautyberry Callicarpa. Thousands of soft pink flowers in spring are swarmed by bees and other pollinators. As summer turns to fall, vibrant purple berries appear earlier than other Beautyberry. Berries persist into winter, feeding songbirds after many other plants have lost their berries. Growing 4-6′ tall, but only 2-3′ wide, Bubble Up fits in narrow locations where height is needed. Deer and rabbit resistant.  Plant Beautyberry in soil that has been amended with organic matter. It prefers full sun to light shade, producing the most fruit in full sun. In most winters, foliage will die back to the ground. Cut back foliage in late winter to early spring.
