California State Hand-Drawn Map

T This 18” x 24” unframed lithographic art print features an original hand-illustrated map of California, created in pen and ink with watercolor by Xplorer Maps artist Chris Robitaille. Spanning more than 800 miles from north to south, California’s dramatic geographic diversity is captured in detailed cartographic storytelling. Major cities including Sacramento, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego are thoughtfully integrated into the composition, reflecting the cultural and economic centers that shape the state. Iconic landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge and the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range anchor the map, while celebrated national parks — including Yosemite and Sequoia — highlight California’s natural grandeur. El Capitan rises from Yosemite Valley, and giant sequoias stand as enduring symbols of the state’s ecological heritage. From Pacific coastal ecosystems where whales and sea turtles migrate, to northern redwood forests and alpine wilderness, the artwork illustrates California’s extraordinary range of climates, landscapes, and wildlife. Blending cartographic precision with artistic expression, this piece captures the energy, scale, and natural beauty that define the Golden State.
