A Living Evergreen Carpet for Your Landscape The biggest benefit of Calgary Carpet® Juniper is its low, spreading growth. It covers open soil with dense green foliage and creates a neat, finished look without the need for mowing. Use it where you want reliable ground coverage, especially in areas where lawn grass or other plants may struggle. Excellent for Slopes and Erosion Control Calgary Carpet® Juniper is especially useful on slopes and banks. Its spreading branches help cover exposed soil and create a strong layer of plant growth across the surface. This makes it a smart choice for areas where heavy rain can wash soil away or where mowing would be difficult. Where to Plant Calgary Carpet® Juniper Slopes and Hillsides: Use it to cover difficult areas and help reduce erosion. Rock Gardens: Its low evergreen growth looks natural around stone, gravel, and other drought-tolerant plants. Walkways and Borders: Plant it along paths and garden edges for soft, year-round texture. Retaining Walls: Allow the branches to trail over walls for a natural cascading look. Raised Beds: Plant near the edge so the foliage can spill over and soften hard lines. Mass Plantings: Plant several together to cover a larger area with dependable evergreen color. Softens Walls and Hard Landscape Edges Calgary Carpet® Juniper can gently trail over retaining walls, rocks, and raised beds. This spreading habit helps soften sharp edges and gives hardscape areas a more natural look. It also works well between larger shrubs and trees where you want to cover open soil without adding much height. Calgary Carpet® Juniper Sun and Soil Needs Sunlight: Plant Calgary Carpet® Juniper in full sun for the best growth and dense evergreen coverage. Soil: This juniper grows best in well-drained soil. Avoid areas where water stays around the roots for long periods. Watering: Water regularly while the plant becomes established. Once the roots are settled in, it becomes much more drought tolerant. A Tough Groundcover for Challenging Areas Calgary Carpet® Juniper is a dependable choice for parts of the landscape that can be difficult to plant. It handles heat, cold, and dry conditions well once established. Its durable nature makes it useful for low-maintenance home landscapes, larger planting beds, slopes, and other areas where you want lasting coverage without constant care.
