Calcutta Bamboo Gaff

L.T. Marine Calcutta Bamboo Gaff We are happy to offer a series of Calcutta bamboo gaffs that is competitively priced with multiple options. Calcutta bamboo has been used extensively for many years in the commercial fishing industry for its strength, and durability in the harsh saltwater environment. We spent serval years testing our gaffs on several commercial and charter fishing boats in the Northeast Giant Bluefin Tuna and offshore canyon sport fisheries with excellent results! Our gaffs feature both Winthrop Tackle's original and new J hooks mounted on the centerline of the gaff without compromising the strength of the gaff blank.    Ideal for use on all pelagic species from Giant Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Big Eye Tuna, Swordfish, to Mahi, Tilefish, and more! Much stronger than Aluminum, they can take a beating and come in contact with rub rails and fiberglass. These blanks wont kink, bend, or shatter. They are built to stand up to commercial and charter boat use. These gaffs float. Available with two equally spaced Blue Tuna Cord Grips. Available in 6’, and 8’ IGFA Legal Lengths. Available with 3”, or 4" Gap Winthrop Tackle J and Original hooks made form 316 Stainless Steel. We set the hooks on center and use two methods to secure the hook to the blank to prevent the hook from pulling out or spinning free. The hook end is protected with a sleeve and epoxy coated to prevent the gaff blank from splintering or from absorbing water.
