Cachapas

The cachapa, torta de choclo, rigua, guirila o choreadas, is a typical dish of Venezuela, Colombia, Salvador, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. It is made with ground sweet yellow corn, home cooked on a griddle or skillet. The cachapa can be eaten with your hands, in simple establishments to roadsides or in more formal restaurants, with knife and fork. It can be accompanied by hand cheese, guayanés cheese, butter, cream, or several other combined ingredients. Because of its hand able nature and mild flavor you can eat it at any time of day.
