DB25 Male to DB9 Female Null Modem Cable (6 ft)

Pan Pacific S‑25M9F‑NM‑6′ DB25 Male to DB9 Female Null Modem Cable (6 ft) The Pan Pacific S‑25M9F‑NM‑6′ is a 6-foot RS‑232 serial null modem cable featuring a DB25 male to DB9 female configuration. Designed with durable 26 AWG stranded conductors, a full-length mylar foil shield, and molded D-sub plugs with grounding indents, this cable is ideal for direct device-to-device communication between RS‑232 serial interfaces. It includes thumb screws for a secure and reliable connection, and it follows a null modem pinout to ensure compatibility with DTE-to-DTE communication. What Is a Null Modem Cable and How Is It Used? A null modem cable allows two Data Terminal Equipment (DTE) devices—such as computers, terminals, or printers—to communicate directly without a modem or intermediary device. This is achieved by crossing the transmit (TX) and receive (RX) lines, enabling the output from one device to connect to the input of the other. In more advanced versions, additional control lines like RTS (Request to Send) and CTS (Clear to Send) may also be crossed to support full hardware flow control. Typical Applications for Null Modem Cables PC-to-PC file transfers in legacy systems without network access Direct connection between terminals and routers for command line access Embedded system diagnostics or debugging when working with microcontrollers or headless systems Industrial equipment configuration where a direct RS‑232 interface is used Example Use Case A technician working with a legacy industrial switch needs to connect directly to a laptop for configuration. Since both devices are DTE, using a straight-through cable would not work. The S‑25M9F‑NM‑6′ null modem cable ensures correct line crossover, enabling reliable and accurate serial communication without additional adapters or converters.
