High Collar Fitted Cable Knit Aran Coat

If you love garments that are both stylish and packed with heritage, our Cable Merino Aran Jacket is for you. Inspired by the traditional Aran fisherman sweaters, this jacket carries the legacy of Irish craftsmanship into a versatile, modern design. Its intricate cable stitches are more than just beautiful - they tell a story about the people that live on the Aran islands. Resembling the fishermen's ropes, they were thought to bring blessings of good luck and safety. Mothers and wives carefully wove these patterns as heartfelt wishes for protection during treacherous sea voyages. The Aran stitches aren't just symbolic, but they're practical, too. Originally crafted to withstand the harsh Atlantic weather, they enhance breathability and heat insulation. This jacket is crafted using the same old-age techniques, offering comfort and warmth on the chilliest of days. This coat is made from 100% Merino wool, an ethically sourced and luxuriously soft yarn. This organic wool is super heat-insulating, moisture-wicking, and impressively durable. Plus, it's treated with SAOL's anti-shrink technology, so you can toss it in the washing machine without a second thought, as it'll keep its shape and color wash after wash. This long Aran coat, falling just above the knees, features a raised turtleneck collar and a full buttoned front - and because we like attention to detail, even the buttons feature Celtic knots on them. Ribbed waist, cuffs and neckline provide a snug, warmth-trapping fit. Perfect for transitional seasons, it's endlessly versatile - layer it up and use it as a jacket when you go to office or just having a stroll around the city. Made in Ireland, this jacket is a timeless blend of tradition and everyday practicality - and it makes a wonderful gift too!
