C5-3 Engines

When your rocket needs a fast, steady boost and an earlier recovery, the Estes C5-3 engine delivers. With a total impulse of 10.00 N-sec and a thrust duration of 1.85 seconds, this 18 mm engine is engineered to provide a longer, sustained push off the launch pad—making it a strong match for mid-weight rockets and high-drag designs. The 3-second delay ensures timely recovery system deployment, which is especially important for rockets with a max lift weight of up to 8.0 oz. That shorter delay window minimizes coast time and helps deploy parachutes earlier in the flight arc, leading to safer, more predictable landings—perfect for designs that don't benefit from long coasts or for flying in variable wind conditions. Each pack contains 3 C5-3 engines, 4 starters, and 4 starter plugs, giving you everything you need to prep for multiple launches. Just add your recovery wadding, launch pad, and controller, and you’re ready for a high-thrust experience backed by Estes’ consistent engine quality and safety. Whether you're testing new rocket configurations or simply want tighter control over recovery timing, the C5-3 engine offers a reliable balance of power and performance. It’s a go-to choice for intermediate rocketeers looking to expand their engine lineup with something both powerful and precise.
