c. 1940s Streamline Nutcracker

Vintage cast iron nutcracker with embossed streamline accents. Streamline came onto the scene as a direct byproduct of Art Deco. Designers did away with the ornate attributes of Art Deco design in favor of the concept of motion and speed that stemmed from from scientific thinking. Soon, it seemed every facet of American design had come to embrace Streamline and it was found everywhere: architecture, transportation, appliances, telephones, and other devices. This item exhibits a few spots of rust, but appears to be in working order. MM - 4498 - 082423 Please refer to photos regarding condition.
