By the Way

BY THE WAY By Gonzalo Adrian Battaglia Colored pencil on paper print on hand-torn 300 gsm rag paper, 2021.    ABOUT THIS SERIES - FIGURAL SERIES In his Figural Series, Gonzalo Adrian Battaglia creates semi-realistic, anatomically correct characters with rudimentary faces and limited facial expressions engaged in various activities. They are usually shown nude and inhabiting strange and timeless worlds of villages, small towns, and rural landscapes. Sometimes, however, the backgrounds are left empty, allowing the viewer to imagine the figures in an environment of their own creation.
