'Buttonbush' Art Print

This 9 by 12 art print features the artwork of Marian Ellis Rowan, from the 1899 publication ‘A Guide to The Wildflowers’. Rowan was a talented botanist and painter, and she created over 3,000 paintings, traveling all over the world studying the plants and animals. Her representations of plants, have a unique artistic style, and were a significant contribution to the field of botany before photography was commonplace. Buttonbush, (Cephalanthus occidentalis), is found in most of the eastern United States, from Mexico to Canada. Prized for its unique spherical flowers, Buttonbush is an important wetland plant with many ecological benefits.
