Butterfly segmentation box with four storage compartments

Look no further if you want a unique storage solution for small items like jewelry. This butterfly-shaped box has four storage compartments, each with a separate lid. The lids are each made of small segments of various woods, making them much more visually interesting than if they were each one solid piece. Each segment is glued to a maple backer, which, in turn, has an oak spacer glued to its bottom. The spacers keep the tops aligned. The segmented tops are cut from maple, Purpleheart, and sapele and finished with polyurethane. The butterfly's body is made from walnut. The butterfly box is 9 1/2 inches wide, 6 1/2 inches tall, and has an outside depth of 2 1/2 inches. The inside depth of each compartment is 1 3/8 inches.
