Burlap Flag No. 214 | Original Oil Painting with Vintage Roosevelt American Flag on Burlap by Laura Roosevelt | 52" x 66"   Vintage Roosevelt American Flag Abstract Painting   The great-granddaughter of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt, Laura Roosevelt is an American painter who has pioneered a new form of abstract American art: Historic American Pop.    Laura Roosevelt's work combines historic American imagery with abstract painting.  These pieces incorporate iconic photographs with textured, abstract backgrounds, reshaping the experience of those moments frozen in time.    My “Historic American Pop”, is the balance or tension that occurs between chosen historical images and abstract art.  I believe that historical photographs combined with abstract art brings about a new visual experience.   - Laura   Laura sits on the board of Ken Burns’ foundation, The Better Angels Society, where she is dedicated to helping tell America’s story.  Her work is celebrated and collected throughout the Nation and in the Caribbean.    Laura Roosevelt's work is available as original art, reproductions and enhanced reproductions on paper and fabric.  Please allow us to know of your interest.   Please allow us to know of your interest: Sterling and Burke Ltd Georgetown, Washington, DC Next to Four Seasons Hotel 1.202.333.2266 Gallery@SterlingAndBurke.com
