Buffet Crampon Moennig Barrel - A Clarinet

Buffet-Crampon's Moennig barrels, conceived by Hans Moennig, feature an inverse taper conical bore designed to tighten downward, offering increased resistance, and giving sustained notes with enhanced tonal clarity. Crafted from Grenadilla wood adorned with silver metal rings, the Moennig barrel provides reduced resistance and improved tonal projection compared to stock Buffet barrels. With a larger bore size, compared to the Chadash, the Moennig barrel offers much less resistance with strong sound projection. Some players may find the Moennig more challenging to control, particularly at lower dynamic levels. If your priority is achieving the most expansive sound possible, the Moennig is the ideal choice. Moreover, if you often find clarinets feeling overly stifling due to your tendency to move a larger volume of air, the Moennig barrel is an great solution to achieve your preferred feel and tone.
