What does the Torrium2 controller do? The Torrium2 is a smart pump controller that maintains constant water pressure, prevents dry running, and automatically restarts the pump if water supply is temporarily lost. It also protects against damage from power loss or air in the line. 2. Can this pump be used with a rainwater tank? Yes. The BT20-40 is ideal for rainwater harvesting systems and can be used with a tank-to-tap setup. It will automatically activate when a tap or appliance is opened and shut off when not in use. 3. What is the difference between this and a constant pressure pump like the DynaDrive? While both maintain water pressure, the DynaDrive uses variable speed technology to adjust motor speed for demand. The BT20-40 is a fixed-speed pump, but the Torrium2 controller provides intelligent on/off operation and constant pressure-like performance for many household needs. 4. Can this pump run dry without damage? No. However, the Torrium2 controller includes built-in dry-run protection, which will shut the pump off automatically if the water source runs out or a suction issue occurs. 5. What is the power requirement? The BT20-40 features a dual voltage motor and can run on either 115V or 230V, offering installation flexibility based on your available power source. 6. How many fixtures can this pump support? This model is suitable for small to medium-sized homes with 1–2 bathrooms or for light irrigation setups. It delivers up to 26 GPM, making it suitable for multiple taps or appliances running simultaneously. 7. Is this pump loud? No, it operates quietly compared to traditional jet pumps. That said, mounting it on a solid surface and placing it in a sheltered area will help minimize vibration noise. 8. Where should I install the BT20-40? Install it indoors or in a weather-protected outdoor space. Avoid direct sun exposure or areas prone to flooding or freezing. 9. Does this system need a pressure tank? No. The Torrium2 controller eliminates the need for a large pressure tank, though a small tank can be added for further performance tuning if desired. 10. What kind of maintenance is required? Minimal. Just ensure the suction line stays free of debris, check for leaks periodically, and follow the manual’s recommendations for cleaning the strainer or pump housing when needed.
