Brut de Forge Skinner Knife with Leather Sheath

The Brut de Forge Skinner Knife keeps its raw, forged character on purpose. The blade runs 7-8 inches overall, built from carbon steel for an edge that holds up under real use. Instead of a full mirror polish, the spine keeps its rough forged texture, while the cutting edge stays bright and sharp. That contrast is the whole point of a brut de forge finish. You get a blade that looks like it came straight off the anvil, not off a buffing wheel. It's a style hunters and collectors both recognize, and it shows the blade's construction instead of hiding it. A solid brass bolster sits between the blade and the stag handle, adding weight up front and a warm metal contrast against the pale stag material. The handle itself is cut from natural stag horn, light and cream-toned, with its own texture from piece to piece. This knife ships with a brown leather belt sheath. Cream stitching runs the full seam, and a riveted belt loop keeps it secured at your hip in the field. A leather tie lace on the sheath adds an extra layer of retention while you're moving. This is a working hunting knife built to be used, not just admired. The drop-point blade handles skinning and field dressing with control, and the brass bolster gives your grip a stable pivot point. It also holds up as a display piece thanks to the raw forged blade texture and natural stag handle. Every Brut de Forge Skinner Knife from JW Steel Crafts is forged by hand-selected smiths, then fitted with natural stag and finished in-house. The raw spine finish isn't a shortcut. It's a deliberate choice to show the blade's forged origin. This is the only Brut de Forge Skinner Knife at JW Steel Crafts with this exact stag horn coloring, brass bolster fit, and included leather belt sheath. The History Behind This Blade Brut de Forge blades trace back to traditional French bladesmithing, where smiths left the forge texture visible as proof of the steel's origin. Carbon steel has been the backbone of working blades for centuries, valued for edge retention and strength. Staghorn handles bring centuries of hunting tradition to the grip. JW Steel Crafts blends all three into one working knife. Blade Performance The carbon steel blade takes a sharp edge and holds it well through repeated field use. The raw forged spine resists showing scratches the way a mirror polish would. Its drop-point profile keeps the tip controlled during skinning and caping work. Balance sits just behind the brass bolster, so the blade feels steady in hand. Handle Construction Natural stag horn gives this handle a secure, textured grip, even in wet conditions. The brass bolster adds durable weight without changing the knife's balance point. Construction is solid, with no looseness between handle and blade under normal field use. Each stag handle carries its own coloring, so your knife is never identical to another. Best Used For This Skinner knife suits hunters for field dressing deer, elk, or hogs. It also works well for campers who want a dependable fixed-blade tool. The included leather sheath makes it easy to carry on a belt during long days outdoors. Collectors drawn to traditional brut de forge styling will value it as a display piece, too.
