BroodMinder-TH2 Temperature and Humidity Sensor

BroodMinder-TH2 Temperature and Humidity Sensor The BroodMinder-TH2 is designed to give beekeepers precise, real-time insight into conditions inside the hive. With its slim, low-profile housing, the sensor sits directly on top of brood or super frames, recording the heat and humidity generated by the colony. By capturing subtle shifts in hive temperature and moisture, the TH2 helps beekeepers spot changes early and act before small issues become big problems. Key Features and Benefits Dual measurement: Records and stores both internal hive temperature and relative humidity. Low profile design: Redesigned housing measures only 1/4" x 1", fitting easily on top of frames. High accuracy: Temperature readings accurate to within 1°F. Temperature Event detection: Detects spikes—including swarms—and switches to 1-minute sampling. Real-time alerts: With a hub, event detection can trigger email or text notifications. Long battery life: Powered by a replaceable CR2032 battery with 2 years of life. Wireless ecosystem: Integrates fully with the BroodMinder wireless monitoring system. Detailed Description The BroodMinder-TH2 sensor combines temperature and humidity monitoring in one compact device. Designed for the beekeeper, it sits on top of brood or honey super frames to record hive conditions as heat rises through the colony. With accuracy to 1°F, it captures even the smallest changes. A key feature of the TH2 is its Temperature Event detection, which identifies sudden spikes such as those caused by swarming. When triggered, the sensor switches to 1-minute sampling for detailed recording. If connected to a BroodMinder hub, these events can also generate email or text alerts, giving you immediate updates on hive activity. Built with a redesigned, low-profile housing (1/4" x 1"), the TH2 is unobtrusive yet reliable. It is powered by a replaceable CR2032 battery with a 2-year life, ensuring long-term use without frequent maintenance. As part of the BroodMinder wireless ecosystem, the TH2 works seamlessly with other devices to provide comprehensive hive monitoring. Specifications: Measurements: Temperature and relative humidity Accuracy: ±1°F for temperature Housing size: 1/4" x 1" Battery: Replaceable CR2032, 2-year life Event detection: Temperature Event monitoring with high-resolution recording Connectivity: Works with BroodMinder wireless ecosystem     See our Live Hive Scale Data and read more about our hive data setup.
