Bronze Dragon Power Cable

Bronze Dragon Power Cable Sold per Each The Bronze Dragon Power Cable is a culmination of 20 years of Moon Audio's desire to exceed the price-performance ratio, and a testament to our never-ending goal to continually produce HiFi Audio Cables that over-deliver on performance in the marketplace. Pushing the boundaries of audio cable performance, the Bronze Dragon Power Cable uses a new process of adding Graphene to our UP-OCC copper strandings. Graphene is a single-atom-thick, 2-dimensional material composed of carbon atoms arranged in a hexagonal lattice geometry. This unique material is 200 times stronger than steel but incredibly flexible without added weight, providing a more efficient transmission of electrical signals. It adds strength, flexibility, and conductivity to the metal it is bound with. The base of the Bronze Dragon Power Cable is composed of OCC copper–single-crystal continuous cast copper, or Ohno Continuous Cast. OCC is a manufacturing process that prevents any crystalline fractures or minimal grain boundaries, which essentially become potholes that the electrical signal must bypass. The copper used in the Bronze Dragon Power Cable is devoid of all possible impurities that can change the coloration of the sound. Knowing that all materials have different coloration and the key to keeping the tonality consistent or slightly changing the coloration is to omit other metals or add other metals to the conductor stand, Graphene was the perfect choice. This not only improved the UP-OCC material but also changed the tonality of our Dragon UP-OCC conductor, delivering increased dynamics with a very musical flavor to the sound. After much R&D, we've successfully melded two tonalities into one cable, crafting a power cable with improved dynamics and maintained musicality–a hard feat to achieve. The Bronze Dragon Power Cable utilizes 3 x 12 AWG Graphene-UPOCC copper conductors. Like the Bronze Dragon Speaker cable, we are using a 5-layer conductor geometry. This is known as a Concentric Stranding. A True Concentric wire is characterized by a central wire surrounded by one or more layers of helically laid wires in a geometric pattern, with alternately reversed lay direction and increasing lay length. Each layer is a different strand size, and each layer's twist rotation is the opposite of the layer below. The wire’s shape, along with the Graphene, helps improve conductivity. At Moon Audio, we are always trying to improve conductor conductivity, which helps provide the purest signal transmission. Each conductor utilizes a dual-layer insulation to help maintain flexibility. The conductors are then wrapped in Cotton and Mylar to keep a consistent geometry. The outer jacket utilizes PVC, providing good flexibility, and a double layer shielding–the first comprised of an Aluminum Mylar Foil, followed by a second shield composed of 100% pure copper braided shielding–is used to ward off outside interference and reduce negative interactions with other cables nearby. See more cable specifications below. The Bronze Dragon Power Cable is a high-quality cable designed to be used with all equipment in mind: From DVD/CD Players and DACs to Home Theater Processors/Preamps and Monster amps. This cable is dead quiet and rejects all EMI and RFI interference. Quality You Can Trust Most stock Power Cables are made of small overall gauge conductors that work as a bottleneck for providing the raw power your equipment desires. Poor geometries, no shielding, rubber jackets, and a whole host of other issues with OEM cables can limit your system from performing its best. Of all the cables in your system, the shielding on your power cable is super critical. Power cable shielding is crucial for protecting against electromagnetic interference (EMI), ensuring signal integrity, and preventing damage to the cable and surrounding equipment. Shielding also plays a role in grounding and grounding fault detection. Here are some critical points to note on shielding.  EMI Protection: Shields act as a barrier against external and internal EMI, preventing interference with other cables and devices. Signal Integrity: Shielding helps maintain the quality of the signal transmitted through the cable, preventing signal degradation. Safety: Shields can help reduce the risk of shock hazards and provide a path for stray currents in case of faults. Grounding: Properly grounded shields can help prevent the buildup of static charge and provide a path for leakage current to ground, reducing the risk of shock. Mechanical Protection: Shields can also offer some degree of mechanical protection to the cable core, preventing damage from sharp objects or physical stress. Return Path: In some applications, the shield can serve as a return path for the signal, improving the overall performance of the system.  Dragon Cables are handcrafted from quality materials in Moon Audio's headquarters in Cary, North Carolina. All of our cables are created with ultra-pure, single-crystal silver and copper strands and engineered to provide the cleanest, most musical presentation. Our wire is void of impurities and crystalline boundaries, leaving nothing between you and your music. Bronze Dragon Sound Signature The Bronze Dragon is dynamic, detailed, and musical. It leans on the warm side of neutral, but is anything but dry-sounding. The Bronze Dragon makes a bold statement with a clear presentation and authority. The smooth, musical quality of the Bronze Dragon makes it a perfect fit for headphones that tend to sound a bit edgy or bright. Despite its warmth, the Bronze Dragon does not have a laid-back, lush sound, and is much closer to neutral, making it a very natural-sounding cable. As a flexible-sounding cable, it can match the sonic characteristics of your sound system. Bronze Dragon Cable Design The Bronze Dragon Power Cable is a new Graphene Copper conductor-based cable using 3 x 12 AWG Graphene-UPOCC copper conductors. The conductors in the Bronze Dragon Power Cable are free from impurities and have virtually no crystal boundaries. Like the Bronze Dragon Speaker Cable, we are using a 5-layer conductor geometry in the Bronze Dragon Power Cable. This is not a material, but a way of extruding silver and copper to prevent any impurities and fractures in the crystalline structure of the wire. The wire is drawn very slowly to cast as an almost perfect single crystal small-diameter conductor. The resulting purity and the size of the cast wire make a tremendous difference and there is less damage to the near-perfect cast state. We find this UP-OCC process produces a very clean and close to neutral sound in our copper-based and silver-based cables.
