Brontë Sisters Complete Set

6b Brontë Sisters. London: Smith, Elder, & Co., 1892.  Description The Bronte Complete Works 7-volume set brings together the literary achievements of the Brontë sisters—Charlotte, Emily, and Anne—along with their poetry. This collection includes beloved novels such as Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, as well as lesser-known works like Shirley, Villette, and Agnes Grey. Together, these seven volumes showcase the depth, passion, and originality of the Brontës, capturing their explorations of love, independence, morality, and the human spirit in some of the most enduring classics of English literature. The Brontë sisters overcame intense social constraints and deep personal isolation in their Yorkshire parsonage to leave a lasting impact on English literature. Having spent their youth inventing intricate fictional kingdoms and filling miniature, hand-bound notebooks with stories, the sisters developed a raw, collaborative approach to writing that grounded their future masterpieces. To bypass Victorian prejudice against female intellectuals, they debuted individual novels under the male pseudonyms Currer, Ellis, and Acton Bell, capturing the public's attention with a series of explosive releases in 1847 and 1848. Through Charlotte’s fierce independence in Jane Eyre, Emily’s dark, atmospheric intensity in Wuthering Heights, and Anne’s bold critique of domestic abuse in The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, the sisters injected a revolutionary psychological realism and gothic intensity into the 19th-century novel, leaving a lasting legacy that continues to define the standard of literary fiction Notes Seven volumes with paper covered marbled boards and canvas green spine.
