Bright Chai Syrup

This isn't a heavy, brooding chai. Originally launched as Summer Chai for a reason — Bright Chai leans into the lighter end of the spectrum, with citrus-forward Orange Pekoe black tea and warm baking spices (cinnamon, clove, allspice, cardamom) instead of the heavy, peppery masala-style heat you might know from elsewhere. It's chai you'd actually want over ice. It's the chai for people who find traditional chai too intense, or for warm-weather drinks where a heavy spice profile would feel like wearing a sweater in July. Stir an ounce into iced oat milk for an unreasonably good iced chai latte, splash it into sparkling water for a chai soda you'll actually finish on a hot day, or use it to add tea-and-spice depth to a brunch cocktail. Tasting Notes: citrusy black tea, cinnamon, clove, allspice warmth, light cardamom finish The Short Version: A lighter, brighter take on chai — Orange Pekoe black tea brewed with citrus-leaning baking spices instead of heavy peppery heat. Ingredients: Filtered water, black tea, ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, black pepper, allspice, organic cane sugar, ascorbic acid. Perfect For: People who find traditional chai too heavy, summer-iced-latte regulars, brunch-cocktail makers, and anyone looking for chai-without-the-weight. Best Enjoyed In: Iced chai lattes (1 oz syrup + 6 oz oat milk), dirty chais (add a shot of espresso), summer chai sodas (1 oz + 6 oz sparkling water), or bright cocktails with light rum, gin, or bourbon. The Portland Syrups Promise: Ethically sourced, carefully brewed, and bottled in glass jars right here in SE Portland, Oregon. A: Our syrups are shelf-stable for 24 months unopened. Once opened, refrigerate and enjoy within 6 months. Q: What's the difference between Bright Chai and a traditional masala chai? A: Bright Chai is lighter and more citrus-forward. Where masala chai leans heavily on black pepper and ginger for heat, Bright Chai foregrounds Orange Pekoe black tea and baking spices — cinnamon, clove, allspice, cardamom — for a softer, brighter profile. It originally launched as "Summer Chai," which is still the easiest way to describe its character: chai that works just as well over ice in July as in a hot mug in January. Q: Can I use Bright Chai syrup in hot coffee or milk? A: Yes — that's its primary use. Stir ½ to 1 oz into hot or iced milk (dairy or oat) and you've got a chai latte. Add a shot of espresso and you've made a dirty chai. It also works beautifully stirred straight into hot coffee when you want a little spice without committing to a full latte.
