Bricks Floor Base

The Woud Bricks Floor Base is basically the foundation that makes the whole modular storage dream actually work - without it, you're just stacking boxes and hoping they stay put. This white pigmented lacquered oak base has this self-locking mechanism that keeps your Bricks cubes stable whether you're building a simple side table or going crazy with some elaborate room divider setup. What's smart about the proportions is how low-profile it stays at just 2.9 inches high, so it doesn't eat up visual space or make your storage look like it's floating awkwardly. The FSC-certified oak means you're getting responsibly sourced wood that actually feels substantial rather than just looking good in photos. The whole point is flexibility - you can start with one cube and keep adding as your storage needs change, or completely reconfigure things when you move or want a different layout. The base handles it all without wobbling or requiring tools every time you want to switch things up. At 16.9 by 14.1 inches, it's sized to support the Bricks cubes perfectly while staying compact enough for smaller spaces. The fact that it arrives fully assembled means no wrestling with confusing instructions or hunting for the right screws. The white pigmented finish keeps the wood grain visible while giving it a clean, contemporary look that works with different interior styles. Woud approaches modular furniture with this understanding that people's lives and spaces are constantly evolving, so storage solutions should adapt rather than lock you into one configuration forever. Designers Ditte Vad and Julie Begtrup share this philosophy that furniture should respond to how you actually live rather than demanding you change your habits to accommodate it. The brand emerged from founders Mia and Torben Koed's three decades of experience and their desire to create innovative Danish design that pushes boundaries rather than just recycling nostalgic forms, focusing on authentic materials and craftsmanship that enhances daily life through thoughtful functionality.
