BULL RUN BARREL AGED COFFEE - RYE-FINISHED OAK BARREL

About Why We Love It   We have a new barrel from Bull Run for our sought after Bull Run Barrel aged coffee! This barrel was originally a Pinot Noir barrel that Bull Run used for finishing one of their limited-run, specialty whiskeys. It is a really fun twist on that classic spirit. We’ve taken a Pinot Noir, whiskey-finished oak barrel and used it to age our green coffee for a minimum of a week. This infuses the essence of the aromas of the whiskey, oak and Pinot Noir, to transform an Ethiopian Guji into a complex melange of flavors for a truly special treat. You will pick up the berry and graham cracker notes from the coffee along with the oaky whiskey-wine flavors imparted by the barrel. When we say “Barrel Aged” coffee that is exactly what it means- we age our green (pre-roasted) coffee in whiskey barrels provided to us from the wonderful folks at Bull Run Distillery here in Portland, OR.
