Boulder Merino Scarf in Cloud by Susy Pilgrim Waters

The Maker: I am radiant about and proud of having the work of my dear friends Susy and Keith in the shop after many, many years of giggling and loving friendship!  True story- ten years ago when Upstate opened, these kids sent me a small handful of scarves to help give me a boost. I will never forget this gesture of kindness and generosity. This is the first time I have carried them in the shop- and I am so excited to share them with you. Susy's passion for textiles and surface design results in one-of-a-kind apparel.  Woven cashmere and merino wool scarves and throws are exquisitely handmade and printed with Susy's unique surface designs. More recently, cotton and silk woven in India are beautifully handprinted and then stitched into dresses and scarves as well as large heirloom-quality throws. Keith's 3D experience informs a functional, practical, small batch of handcrafted end tables and trays that are carefully made by hand and printed in his workshop in Gloucester, MA. Functionality is key – with color, natural materials and graphic elements coming together in products such as elegant scarves, tea towels, and trays.  For updates, news and product features, please sign up for our newsletter below. The Work: The softest most decadent Merino ever. Boulder is a respectful nod to esteemed British artist Barbara Hepworth, a love for well-worn river pebbles and rocks, and a personal passion for color play on a divine, large, functional scale. These are soft, luxurious scarves perfect for cool summer evenings, adding warmth and a stylish layer for your neck and shoulders, either over or under a coat in the cooler months. Individually handwoven and hand-silkscreened in Kathmandu Nepal, these scarves are wonderfully soft and warm. The fine weave allows the color to show through both sides.
