Process & Profile Botran Rum Reserva is crafted using an intricate process that blends heritage and innovation. The key ingredient is virgin sugarcane honey, derived from the first pressing of Guatemalan sugarcane, grown in volcanic-enriched soils. This premium base undergoes fermentation and distillation before aging in white oak barrels, including American whiskey, sherry, and port casks. The use of the Solera system—a dynamic blending and aging method—ensures consistency and complexity by combining rums aged between 5 and 15 years. This process is executed with precision in Guatemala's high-altitude climate. The cooler temperatures in the mountains slow down aging, allowing the rum to absorb richer flavors while minimizing evaporation. The result is a luxurious spirit with a well-rounded flavor profile.
