Boston Plaintain

Grow your own minerals! We at Petcher Seeds have found Boston Plantain to be another extraordinary crop, thanks to its ability to “mine” essential micro-nutrients such as zinc, copper and selenium. Click the “size” box to choose different weights of bags available for this product! ~~~ Benefits This crop’s key feature is that it mines for micro-nutrients—primarily zinc, copper and selenium—making these nutrients available when grazed. These micro-nutrients are vital to wildlife and livestock. Animals tend to not eat Boston Plantain until they need the nutrients, and then they feed on it much like going to a mineral block. The leaves are similar to alfalfa in terms of forage value. Its deep taproot tills the soil, bringing all the nutrients to the topsoil. Planting Guide Boston Plantain can handle any soil type, from extreme drought to extreme wetness. Ideal pH is between 5 and 8.2, with an ideal soil temperature of 45 °F. The seed can be planted at any time during the year, at a depth of 1/8”. It will make a very deep taproot and persist for four to five years.
