Boss DS-1X Distortion Pedal

DESCRIPTION  The DS-1X launches the famous BOSS distortion into a new era of expression, delivering unmatched performance for guitarists seeking the ultimate tone. This advanced stomp combines decades of pedal expertise with the latest technologies, bringing you a breakthrough sound experience that’s only possible with BOSS innovation. Prepare to be amazed—the inspiring and ultra-responsive DS-1X will change your thinking about distortion pedals forever. High-Def Distortion for Modern Players The DS-1X completely redefines the distortion stomp with trailblazing BOSS MDP technology. Its distortion tones are perfectly balanced no matter where you play on the neck, even with maximum gain. You get tight response on the low strings and fat, singing tones on the highest notes, plus supreme definition when playing arpeggios and complex chords. Exceptional Sound Made Easy The DS-1X’s distortion feels and sounds “dialed in” the instant you turn it on, providing an inspiring and effortless playing experience. MDP constantly analyzes your dynamics and register to create an optimized sound, eliminating the muddy and boomy artifacts that can occur with many distortion circuits. Twisting a knob on the DS-1X tweaks multiple parameters at once under the hood, ensuring high-clarity tones at every setting. From Crunch to Mega-Gain With the wide-ranging controls on the DS-1X, you can call up everything from crunch rhythm tones to intense saturation for searing solos and heavy down-tuned riffs. The distortion is very sensitive to dynamics, allowing you to control the drive amount with your playing touch and the guitar’s volume control. And thanks to its finely tuned digital engine, the DS-1X produces much less noise than standard distortion stomps. MDP: Advanced Tech, Superior Tone Leveraging decades of research and development, BOSS’s proprietary Multi-Dimensional Processing (MDP) technology offers a fresh approach to achieving exceptional tones. In real time, MDP analyzes the various elements that make up the sound, including frequency, overtones, dynamics, pickup response, and more. Various playing characteristics are analyzed as well, such as note register, single notes vs. chords, bends, vibrato amount, and others. Each individual element is then processed in unique ways to produce optimized tones as you play. With its ultra-detailed, high-tech approach, MDP delivers tone quality and playability that reaches far beyond the limits of traditional effects processing.
