This stone has super-fine structure and excellent breakdown properties for final finishing prior to mirror (diamond polished) finishing. The 900-F works especially well on P-20 mold steel with a hardness ranging from 29 to 32Rc. The 900-F is primarily used for hand finishing operations. Always use a lubricant with the stone. The soft bond of the Boride 900-F bar allows it to cope well with fairly hard steels of 58-62 units. Therefore, this stone can be safely recommended for the widest range of blades in terms of hardness of steels from the softest stainless steel to very hard high-alloy steels with a high carbon content.
