Booker's Black Wax 2002

Experience the legendary intensity of Booker's True Barrel Bourbon 2009, a potent, unfiltered expression bottled straight from the barrel. This uncut masterpiece, personally curated by Booker Noe, delivers a complex tapestry of rich oak, deep caramel, and vibrant spice that defines the pinnacle of bourbon craftsmanship. Tasting Notes Nose: A profound and inviting bouquet immediately assails the senses. Rich notes of aged oak and caramelized brown sugar intertwine with sweet vanilla bean and dark chocolate. Hints of dried fruit, especially fig and raisin, emerge, along with a delicate whisper of toasted nuts and even a faint, intriguing spice like star anise. Palate: The entry is powerful and unyielding, a testament to its high proof, yet surprisingly refined. A wave of deep, dark caramel and treacle washes over the palate, followed swiftly by intense baking spices – cinnamon, clove, and a touch of nutmeg. The oak is pronounced but beautifully integrated, offering a pleasant dryness that balances the sweetness. Notes of toasted nuts, leather, and a hint of dark roasted coffee develop mid-palate, showcasing its complexity and depth. Despite the fiery proof, a creamy, almost velvety texture coats the mouth, a hallmark of well-aged Beam bourbons. Finish: The finish is exceptionally long, warm, and lingering, a true testament to its barrel strength. The heat gently recedes, leaving behind a persistent echo of sweet oak, charred vanilla, and lingering spice. A pleasant dryness and an evolving interplay of sweet and savory notes persist, inviting contemplation and another sip. Subtle hints of tobacco and dark cocoa emerge in the very end, leaving a memorable impression. About the Distillery Jim Beam, an iconic name in American whiskey, boasts a legacy dating back to 1795.
