Bombs Away

Bombs Away, 60mm Mortar Team Model: MG087 Scale: 1/30 Finish: Matte This dynamic 1/30 scale two-man set captures the intensity of frontline infantry support as a U.S. Army mortar team prepares to fire their deadly 60mm mortar. One crewman drops the round down the tube while his partner braces for the blast, hands over ears in anticipation of the thunderous report. Lightweight, portable, and highly effective, the 60mm mortar was one of the most important infantry support weapons of World War II. Capable of delivering high-explosive fire into concealed enemy positions, it provided frontline units with rapid-response firepower in both offensive assaults and defensive actions. Expertly sculpted in realistic combat poses and finished in authentic matte tones, this set features detailed field gear, period uniforms, and accurately rendered mortar equipment. A superb addition to WWII dioramas, winter battle displays, and U.S. Army heavy weapons teams.
