About Bogle Our family sources grapes from some of the best vineyards across the state. These grapes complement those from our estate vineyards in Clarksburg, Lodi and the Sierra Foothills. Sustainability begins in the vineyards. From knowledge passed down from previous generations to implementing new ideas, Bogle Family Vineyards is following some of the most stringent eco-friendly farming practices for wine grapes in the world. California Wines California wine production has a rich viticulture history since 1680 when Spanish Jesuit missionaries planted Vitis vinifera vines native to the Mediterranean region in their established missions to produce wine for religious services. In the 1770s, Spanish missionaries continued the practice under the direction of the Father Junípero Serra planted California's first vineyard at Mission San Juan Capistrano. The state produces about ninety percent of the American wine supply and is the fourth largest wine producer among the world's independent nations. It has more than 1,200 wineries ranging from home-grown and small boutiques to large corporations with international distribution. Irresistible vanilla and intriguing black plums lay way to the dense and concentrated wine that is the Cabernet Sauvignon. Deeply extracted and complex dark fruit enhance the full-bodied character, and touches of toasted hazelnut and spicy clove are left by the 12 months of aging in one year old American oak. Ample tannins and an enduring finish will allow this wine to cellar for another 6-8 years, but don’t let anyone say you can’t enjoy it now
