The term "sissy squat" is actually quite misleading! It's a seriously challenging exercise that demands significant strength and endurance. The name "sissy squat" is derived from Greek mythology. It references King Sisyphus, who the gods punished for his trickery. His punishment was to endlessly roll a huge boulder up a hill, only for it to roll back down when it reached the top. This eternal, seemingly futile task is reflected in the exercise itself, as it primarily targets the quadriceps, often referred to as the "engine" of the lower body.
