Bob Lewis Kites

Kite fishing is an ancient technique that dates back to ancient Egypt, but it was Captain Bob Lewis who perfected and popularized it among modern anglers. Together with his son, Captain Jimmy Lewis, they continuously improved the method to make it more accessible, efficient, and exciting for everyone. After Bob’s passing in 1997, Jimmy and his wife Holly have carried on the family tradition, bringing kite fishing into the 21st century. Today, thanks to their legacy, kite fishing has become one of the most effective and thrilling ways to target pelagic species such as sailfish, mahi-mahi, tuna, and wahoo. Benefits of Kite Fishing: Natural bait presentation: By keeping the bait on the surface and away from the boat, kite fishing provides a more realistic presentation, which increases strike rates. Greater water coverage: Allows you to fish multiple lines at the same time, boosting your chances of success. Lower environmental impact: A more passive and clean technique, ideal for catch-and-release practices. Highly effective even on calm days: Thanks to innovations by the Lewis family, modern kite fishing remains effective even in low-wind conditions. ✅ Available Models: Lewis Medium Wind Kite: Recommended wind: Moderate (8–20 mph / 13–32 km/h).
