BMW E9X M3 Power Steering Cooler

CSF High-Efficiency Power Steering Cooler – E9X M3 (CSF Part #8041) Track-Proven Cooling Solution for the E9X M3 Steering System Track-driven E9X M3s are notorious for overheating power steering systems—leading to fluid overflow, diminished steering response, and in severe cases, pump or rack failure. The CarBahn High-Efficiency Power Steering Cooler, developed in partnership with CSF, directly addresses this issue by drastically improving thermal efficiency and fluid stability under high-load conditions. Designed as a true plug-and-play upgrade, this cooler increases surface area by 83% and has been lab-tested to deliver a 40% improvement in cooling performance over the stock unit. Key Performance Features: Dual-Pass, 6-Row Plate-Type Core – Utilizes CSF’s high-efficiency AC condenser technology for compact, high-pressure performance. 83% Larger Surface Area vs. OEM – Significantly enhances heat dissipation, especially in aggressive driving or track environments. 40% More Efficient Than Stock – Lab-verified thermal improvements reduce the likelihood of fluid overflow and system fatigue. 1-Row, 18mm Wide Microtube Design – 4-channel layout enables rapid heat exchange while maintaining high pressure tolerance. Fully Brazed Aluminum Construction – Stronger and more reliable than OE mechanically bonded designs. Direct OEM Fitment – Accepts factory mounting brackets, oil lines, and AC condenser with no modifications required. Supercharger Compatible – Increased height is directed upward from OE location to allow clearance for aftermarket supercharger heat exchangers and auxiliary coolers. Why Upgrade? The factory power steering cooler on the E9X M3 is underbuilt for track or performance use. As temps rise, fluid expands and often spills from the reservoir—risking damage to critical steering components and creating a messy, high-temp hazard under the hood. This high-performance solution prevents system strain and keeps steering sharp and reliable under all conditions. CarBahn Recommendation If your E9X M3 sees any form of motorsport use—or if you're running increased horsepower, sticky tires, or aggressive suspension setups—this cooler is a must-have. Protecting your power steering system is critical for both performance and safety.
