The app rivals the best in the business, and the Icon’s connectivity is comprehensive. The screen looks great and is easy to read and the Icon is of a size that means most buyers should be able to accommodate it without making compromises. The Bluesound Node Icon marks a great entry point into the world of true high-fidelity streaming. It has enough musical talents for me to recommend it as a main source in a budget to mid-priced system and as an additional source in a higher-end one. The results I enjoyed with the Node Icon feeding a high-end DAC showed that the digital output is capable enough if the upgrade bug bites and you want to pair it with a better DAC further down the line. The Node Icon could well be the best sub £1k streamer on the market, and it’s a competitive field." - Chris Baillie   Bluesound NODE ICON Reference Music Streamer Review - Read More "Bluesound's Node devices have always done the basics well, offering real value for money and fine sound. The new Node Icon N530 brings greater maturity, capability and fidelity, making it an upgrade in every way. The hardware is a worthy step up, its colour display brings it into line with its competitors, and its connectivity goes a long way towards building a 2.1 multichannel home theatre. For some users, the Dirac room correction system option will be a game changer that drastically improves the overall enjoyment of their system. This new streamer resides in a competitive market sector yet distinguishes itself with a clever mix of features, sound quality and overall usability." - Mark Gusew   Bluesound NODE ICON Streaming Preamp Review - Read More "What results is, bluntly, a volume knob away from being about as good as it gets under a grand. The ICON takes everything that Bluesound has been doing convincingly for some years and then boosts the performance and mates it with enough new features to ensure that the company has ensured that they can take the fight to anything else under a grand. This is a blend of technology, performance and user friendliness that is hard not to admire. The result has to be seen as the current Best in Class. " - Ed Selley   Review Bluesound Node Icon: Bluesound streamer in a higher class - Read More "Smart of the Canadians: they present a device that builds on their own strengths. This is not an eye-catching all-rounder with a large touchscreen, Android and apps. But the Node Icon is a very complete streamer and DAC that focuses on sound quality - and that pays off. It can rely on a decade of experience with the BluOS platform. That makes the Node Icon a very good device to fit into a multi-room system. The foundation, however, remains a very competent DA converter that really gives you the feeling of taking a step forward. A successful upgrade.
