Blue-Winged Olive Spinner– Finatics Fly Company

Blue-Winged Olive Spinner Finatics Fly Company This is the final act in the Blue-Winged Olive hatch—and it’s often the most important. The BWO Spinner imitates the spent adult stage of Baetis mayflies, when they’ve finished their business and lie flat on the water like little olive-colored sacrifices. This fly features outstretched wings, a slim olive body, and a low-floating profile that trout love to sip gently off the surface. It’s your go-to pattern during the waning light of a spinner fall, especially when the river goes quiet and the trout get selective. Why it earns a place in your evening box: Spent-wing profile perfectly imitates dying BWOs Subtle olive body and fine tail mimic natural mayfly silhouettes Lays flat in the film for those delicate evening eats Tied on a barbed hook to help keep fish buttoned up Deadly in spring and fall when BWO spinner falls bring the big trout out Sizes available as variants Finatics Fly Company
