Blue Jay Greeting Card

Although sometimes disliked because they chase smaller birds away from feeders, Blue Jays are iconic and eye-catching birds. The word jay may come from Old French jai, meaning “gay,” a reference to the bird’s bright plumage. They often bury seeds and acorns, and since many are never retrieved, they help plant trees. Blue jays are members of the corvid family, making them fiercely intelligent and social. Blue jays are symbolic of strong familial bonds.
