Blue Dun

Blue Dun Finatics Fly Company The Blue Dun is a throwback pattern that still flat-out catches modern trout. Designed to imitate a wide range of slate-gray and blue-bodied mayfly duns, this fly shines in early spring and fall when Baetis, Iron Blues, and other cool-weather hatches bring trout to the surface. With its slender blue-gray body, upright feather wings, and grizzly hackle, this pattern floats beautifully in slower slicks and gentle riffles where fish are feeding delicately. When trout are keyed in on small, dark-bodied bugs, this one’s a box-staple. Why it gets the nod from old-school and new-school anglers: Blue-gray body mimics early-season and overcast-day mayflies Upright wings and hackle keep the fly high on the water Subtle profile ideal for clear water and selective trout Tied on a barbed hook for better holding power A time-tested dry fly that still earns every strike it gets Sizes available as variants Finatics Fly Company
