The Premium Difference Much like all of our Premium Dragon Audio Cables, the Blue Dragon Premium Interconnect Cable is built using only the best materials available. The UP-OCC 99.99998% pure conductors are matched with Mundorf MSolder SUPREME SilverGold mix at every connection point, while also utilizing the best RCA and XLR connectors on the market today. When you are trying to squeeze out every last percentage point of performance, the Premium version makes sense. The Furutech Top Line XLR and WBT Nextgen connectors simply disappear from having an effect on the sound, and every point of signal saturation makes a difference. Premium Dragon Audio Cables are the best of the best! These cables are meant for cream-of-the-crop audio gear where every detail makes a difference in bringing you closer to audio bliss. Quality You Can Trust Most stock audio cables are made of poor, ultra-thin conductors that work as a bottleneck for sound. Poor geometries, no shielding, rubber jackets, and a whole host of other issues in OEM cables can limit the performance of your audio gear in terms of clarity and definition. Dragon Cables are handcrafted from quality materials in Moon Audio's headquarters in Cary, North Carolina. All of our cables are created with ultra-pure, single-crystal silver and copper strands and engineered to provide the cleanest, most musical presentation. Our wire is void of impurities and crystalline boundaries, leaving nothing between you and your music. Blue Dragon Cable Design The Blue Dragon interconnect uses the same UP-OCC copper conductors as the Black Dragon Interconnect in a 24awg size (instead of 21.5awg). It is designed as a neutrality solution, meant to disappear between the components in your system. Drew always says the best connection is no connection, and you can hear that philosophy in the sound signature of the Blue Dragon. The Black Dragon Interconnect builds upon the Blue Dragon sound signature but with a warmer and smoother tonality without being overly lush or mushy sounding. The Black Dragon remains close to neutral but with a fuller, bigger sound and a detailed yet smooth top end. The Blue Dragon is very resolute but not to the point of introducing any sibilance or edginess to the sound. It has a good, tight, controlled bottom end weight, making it ideal for maintaining nuances without the loss of musicality. The Blue Dragon is double shielded by both a foil and a 100% multi-directional braided wire shield. It is very flexible and easy to route behind your gear. Moon Audio is using one of the best connectors made, the Cardas GRMO connector, as the base connector for the Blue Dragon Interconnect. We can also make the Blue Dragon V2 IC with the WBT Nextgen connectors, as used with the Black Dragon Interconnects. The Copper based WBT Nextgen RCAs provide the cleanest, most neutral sounding approach, but if you wantto add a little high-frequency extension choose the silver-based WBT Nextgen RCAs. Please contact us for this custom option. The Cardas GRMO RCA connector is made of non magnetic, eutectic Brass, Rhodium over Silver plate, with a gold plated Brass cover. Blue Dragon Sound Signature The Blue Dragon is our neutral and natural-sounding cable. It improves dynamics without changing the original flavor of the headphone. Think of the Blue Dragon like a wipe for your eyeglass lenses: You're removing obstructions to the best view but not altering your prescription. The Blue Dragon does just that; it adds more of what the headphone already has and makes it better. You get to hear more of the micro-dynamics of the music without tipping the sound signature forward or making it laid back. The Blue Dragon pairs well with all genres, especially music full of stringed instruments. You get a better sense of reverberation and quicker decay of the notes. The piano note decays are quicker almost as if the keys have just had a tune-up. We love this cable with Folk, Americana, Jazz, and singer songwriter music. Again there is no right or wrong to which Dragon Cable you choose. It is about what is right or your ears. WBT Locking RCA Design The patented WBT locking mechanism provides maximum contact pressure and prevents accidental disconnection of your cables. Attempts to improperly disconnect the connector may result in equipment damage. Follow the instructions below to ensure proper use and care. Step 1: Hold the cable by the base of the connector and loosen the barrel of the male connector by turning it clockwise. Step 2: Insert the cable connector into the RCA socket of your device. Step 3: Hold the cable by the base of the connector and tighten the barrel by turning it counter-clockwise. To prevent damage, do not allow the connector body to turn. Do not overtighten. Remember to reverse these steps when removing the cable.
