Virginie Hucher's large-scale paintings draw viewers into an exploration of depth and subtle complexity, with each brushstroke layering tones that gradually shape intricate, geometric forms. In these works, Hucher carefully builds up tonal gradients that appear minimalist yet are rich with hidden depths. Her skillful use of tone and geometry creates compositions that feel almost sculptural, as though the shapes within the canvas have been carved from layers of light and shadow. Within each painting, the concept of Taoism becomes a quiet, guiding force. Inspired by Taoist principles that view the Tao as the originating source and ultimate reality, Hucher’s works convey a sense of unity and timelessness. These pieces suggest that beneath the surface, reality is born of interwoven layers, each part of a balanced whole, reflecting the fluid yet ordered nature of existence. Hucher's mastery of tone and brushstroke offers a contemplative experience, inviting viewers to find tranquility within complexity.
