Bloomquist Alan Dahlia

This Bloomquist Alan dahlia cultivar produces substantial 6-inch flowers featuring pink and yellow coloration, with vigorous plants reaching 5 feet in height. Prized by growers for exceptional cut flower quality and commanding garden display capabilities. How To Plant Dahlias To get your dahlias started, pick a sunny spot with soil that drains well. Dig a hole, lay the tuber flat, and cover it with soil about 3 inches deep. Hold off on watering for now. Once you spot some sprouts and a few leaves, it’s time to water, but keep it gentle to prevent root rot. It’s a smart  to put the stake next to the tuber at the same time of planting, so you don’t accidentally damage it later on. As the season goes on, give your dahlias some love with fertilizer and insect sprays to help them bloom beautifully and grow strong. In the fall, dig up the roots and store them over winter.
