Blenko x Urban - Color Study | APID# MU0609253

Working within Blenko's world-famous factory, Urban gained unprecedented understanding of the factory's legendary color palette, enabling exploration impossible in typical studio settings. Each vessel in this series represents focused investigation into specific technical challenges - from interior color application and multi-color layering to surface texture effects, form manipulation, and various heat-application techniques. Urban's research-oriented approach treats each piece as both artistic achievement and technical expertise, building comprehensive knowledge that we're fortunate at Blenko to receive. The series showcases how traditional handmade glassmaking techniques combine with systematic experimentation to yield new artistic possibilities. Every piece is one-of-one and sold here in order produced to document Urban's progression from fundamental color studies through increasingly sophisticated technical explorations, preserving specific discoveries about glass behavior that took considerable experimentation to develop and master.
