Each bottle in the set is a genuinely distinct single barrel expression, dumped from a different barrel on a different date and bottled by hand at Buffalo Trace Distillery, meaning no two bottles in this set contain the same whiskey. The variation in dump dates and barrel numbers across the eight bottles provides a fascinating cross-section of how Blanton's single barrel character can shift depending on warehouse position, seasonal dumping, and individual barrel development. Blanton's Original holds the distinction of being the world's first commercially marketed single barrel bourbon, launched in 1984, and the stopper collection tradition it established has become one of the most beloved rituals in American whiskey culture. Each stopper features a horse and jockey in a different racing pose, and the complete set of eight letters is the most coveted configuration for Blanton's enthusiasts worldwide. This set is assembled, matched, and ready to display or open. FAQ What is the Blanton's stopper set and why do collectors pursue it? Each bottle of Blanton's Original Single Barrel carries a pewter stopper featuring a horse and jockey in one of eight different racing poses, each topped with a different letter: B, L, A, N, T, O, N, S. Collecting all eight letters to spell BLANTONS has been a pursuit among bourbon enthusiasts since the brand launched in 1984 and is one of the most recognizable collector traditions in American whiskey. A complete matched set of all eight is the most sought-after Blanton's configuration. Is each bottle in the set from a different barrel? Yes. Every bottle of Blanton's Original is a genuine single barrel expression, bottled individually from one specific barrel. Each bottle in this set carries a different barrel number and dump date, meaning no two bottles contain the same whiskey. The variation across the set is part of what makes the comparison experience so rewarding for enthusiasts. What is Blanton's historical significance? Blanton's Original, launched in 1984, is the world's first commercially marketed single barrel bourbon. Before Blanton's, the concept of bottling bourbon from a single individual cask did not exist as a marketed category. Its success created the single barrel bourbon segment that is now one of the most important in American whiskey. Is a complete stopper set rare to find intact? Yes. Finding all eight letter stoppers together as a matched set requires either assembling individual bottles over time or purchasing a pre-assembled set like this one. Individual bottles are allocated and sell through quickly. A complete intact matched set at retail is a genuinely uncommon find. Where can I buy Blanton's Complete B through S Stopper Set online?
