Blanton's Black 1997 with presentation box

Experience a historic pour with Blanton's Single Barrel Bourbon 1997, a rare treasure from Barrel No. 18. Bottled by hand and specially selected, this exquisite whiskey offers a nuanced elegance and classic Blanton's profile. A testament to timeless craftsmanship, it's a must-have for the discerning collector. Tasting Notes Nose: A delicate and inviting aroma offering classic Blanton's notes of sweet caramel, vanilla bean, and a hint of butterscotch. Underlying layers reveal dried orange peel, faint nutmeg, and a whisper of seasoned oak, indicative of its maturation. There's a subtle floral freshness that rounds out the bouquet. Palate: The entry is smooth and surprisingly effervescent for 80 proof, showcasing an elegant balance. Sweetness takes the lead with brown sugar, honey, and creamy vanilla. This is quickly followed by brighter notes of dried stone fruit – apricot and a touch of ripe cherry – interwoven with a gentle baking spice profile, notably cinnamon and a hint of allspice. The oak presence is refined, providing structure without overwhelming, manifesting as a soft toastiness and a faint leather note. Finish: The finish is medium-long and satisfying, gracefully fading with lingering notes of sweet vanilla and caramel. A subtle warmth persists, accompanied by a pleasant, almost powdery cocoa dust and a whisper of sweet tobacco leaf. The oak delivers a clean, slightly dry sensation that encourages another sip. About the Distillery Blanton's Distillery, a division of Buffalo Trace, holds a significant place in bourbon history. It's credited with being the first single barrel bourbon introduced to the market in 1984, a concept conceived by Master Distiller Elmer T. Lee in honor of Colonel Albert B. Blanton. This innovative approach transformed how premium bourbon was perceived and enjoyed, with each bottle offering a unique expression from a specific barrel.
