You must keep your eye protection in place for the entire duration of the eclipse until the moon completely obscures the entirety of the sun—this is called the full totality phase. As soon as the moon reveals even the tiniest sliver of the photospheric crescent, you must put your eye protection back in place. Find more details in our Eclipse Safety Guide. How can I be sure that my white solar eclipse glasses are certified? Like all of our eclipse products, these white eclipse glasses have been thoroughly tested to ensure that they meet all safety standards. Rainbow Symphony has worked closely with the organizations that set the safety standards since the 1990s, and we’ve continually improved our products with the latest technologies. We don’t just sell the safest eclipse viewers—we take pride in being experts in the field. Unfortunately, there are sellers that sell untested, uncertified, and even fake eye protection, so buying from a reputable eclipse store is a must. Your vision isn’t worth the risk! Can I view a solar eclipse with a telescope if I’m wearing eye protection? No, these white eclipse glasses and all other eclipse viewing products are only for observing eclipses without the aid of other devices, such as telescopes, binoculars, cameras, or finder scopes. We do offer solar filters that are compatible with those devices. If you do plan to use solar filters, we still highly recommend having eclipse glasses or other eclipse viewing products on hand—you don’t want to miss the chance to witness an eclipse directly!
